Scales: Take One.

Description

I only ever seem to do my makeup at night unless I'm specifically going out in it, which means I almost never get to take pictures of my makeup in natural light. What you can't see is that most of my face is tinted in green, so the makeup goes from black, to dark green, to a medium green, to a pretty light green before it hits my real skin.
So, I basically just cut out random shapes with a general guideline of size. The sides of my face aren't symmetrical because the scale pattern isn't a mirror mold, which I like anyway. Makes it feel organic. I applied said shapes to my face with more liquid latex, breathing through my mouth, of course. That being said, these were a bitch to try and get to stay put. I know now that it's because the edges extend away from my natural skin and the easiest way to solve that would be to lay the shapes in the mold again and create a gentle slope from skin to raised scale.

Aside from that, I loved the way these scales look. I may try to apply makeup to them before I apply them to my face to see if that will also help with them not wanting to stay flush against my skin.

I'm super excited for this progress and I look forward to a take two!

Oh and if you want to learn a bit about how I made the scales, I made a post about it at [link]
